It's got everything...except for you

Running all around town trying to find a cake, a ballroom, a photographer, and everything else you need for a wedding can be so stressful that you may need a wig by the time you walk down the isle! The best way to keep your sanity (and your hair) is to look for a venue that offers everything in one spot. Reception halls can offer everything from your ceremony coordinator to the linens, and everything in between. But how do you make you wedding stand out from the hundreds that came before? Simple, personal touches.

Pintrest is a great way to get ideas but remember, there are limits to what a reception hall can do. A cake is a great way to personalize your wedding. If you are holding your reception at a hall with an all inclusive package there are going to be some limitations on cake design. Choose something simple and elegant that will be timeless in your pictures and then add personal touches. Starting with the cake topper. Sure it may be easy to just go to Walmart or Michaels and pick out a cake topper, but now days there are tons of website and stores that sell personalized wedding toppers. They have everything from sports themed to some that include the family pet. With some websites you can even send them a picture of the two of you and they will make a topper to look exactly like you!!!

With all inclusive reception halls the hall usually comes fully decorated. Which is great. They will decorate based on what you tell them your colors and are and layout the room how you want it. The best way to personalize this is through extra table decor. My personal favorite is creative ways numbering tables. Try printing off wine bottle labels and putting them on each table. Guests then know what table they are sitting at and they have a bottle of wine! Or frame pictures of you and your fiance at the age that the table is numbered. There are so many creative ways to number your tables. Even if you don't plan on having a seating chart, numbering your table helps your MC and your waiters with event organization.

Wedding favors are the easiest and most popular way of adding a personal touch to your wedding. Favors should be with the theme of the wedding. Something that the guest can take home and keep to remember your wedding.

In short, these all inclusive wedding halls are a great stress free option that give you time to create lasting memories with your family and friends. Personalizing your event in these halls is a great way to keep everything stress free and keep the bridezilla in all of us in check!

Mint to be!!

2013 has started and while most of the people in the US are thinking about how to stay warm, brides-to-be across the country are beginning the challenging task of picking their wedding colors!!

Wedding colors are an important part of the wedding, in fact next to the bride and groom showing up on time it is probably the most important thing. After tireless research, talking to brides, and pintresting until my eyes burn, I can tell you that the hottest color this year is *drum roll please* Mint Green. Mint is a beautiful color that lends itself to many different color combinations and seasons. My personal favorite combination with this color involves incorporating a light shade of greet and a baby yellow or peach.

Trying to decide on a centerpiece that won't break the bank and will look great with this pastel palette? Try foregoing the fresh flowers and substitute vintage birdcages. This unexpected centerpiece adds a vintage feeling to any venue.

Feeling a little more bold? Go for the color Eggplant or Plum with a bight Teal. Add peacock feathers to your bouquet to pull the look together. I would suggest doing cylinder vases filled with water and a floating candle as a centerpiece.

I will be adding pictures soon so that you can get a visual on what I am taking about. Feel free to message mew with any questions that your may have! Next week I will be taking about how to add personal touches to an all inclusive venue!!!!!

New to this

Every child dreams of what they are going to be when they grow up; a cowgirl, an astronaut  a doctor, a lawyer, etc/ I have always said I want to make dreams come true. (OK actually I wanted to travel the world an be a journalist, but I soon learned that wasn't as easy or as awesome as I thought it would be!) I wanted to be an event planner. More specifically I wanted to be a wedding planner. So I did what every college student with a dream would do, I became a bartender. Although it was a ton of fun, it was a far cry from where I wanted to be in my life. After a few years in the service industry and many life lessons learned the hard way, I decided it was time to renew my dream of being a wedding planner. I set out to put my foot in the door and as luck would have it a door flew open for me. I am currently the ceremony coordinator for a beautiful reception hall in Mesa, Arizona and absolutely loving my life!!
Working in wedding sales and ceremony coordination, although I am fairly new to it, I see a lot of things that I want to share with all brides to be.I am enjoying every moment of my new career! I love helping brides pick out everything to make their special day unique. So, at the urging of my best friend, I have decided to put my love of writing and my love of all things weddings together and create this blog. I promise you, my readers, updates on trends, budgeting, helpful hints, and how-to's to make sure that your big day is everything you ever dreamed of!!
Please feel free to email me, message me, or leave comments with questions, concerns  advise, or anything else you can think of!!!!!
